Gen Re, the global reinsurance subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, has appointed Himanshu Shah as Senior Vice President (SVP) for its Regional & Specialty Unit.
Shah joins from Munich Re US, where he most recently served as SVP, Senior Client Manager, based in Chicago.
He previously worked at Gen Re from 1990 to 1995 as Assistant Vice President, Casualty Facultative Underwriter, before joining Munich Re US.
He then held various positions at Munich Re US over a 23-year stretch, before taking up a position as Managing Director at Guy Carpenter for six months beginning in July 2018, and then returning to Munich Re.
In addition to his most recent position, Shah’s previous roles at Munich Re US included: Client Manager; Account Executive for National & E&S Clients; Underwriting and Production Executive – Regional Clients; Senior Production Underwriter; Production Casualty Treaty Underwriter; and Casualty Facultative Underwriter.
