Gero Michel has joined Aon from Chaucer to lead the re/insurance broker’s UK & EMEA Analytics for its Reinsurance Solutions division.
In his new role he will report to Eric Paire, Head of Capital Advisory, International, Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business.
He will be responsible for devising and driving analytics innovation and strategy across UK and EMEA, and will use the broker’s market intelligence and industry knowledge to build value for clients and achieve the firm’s growth ambitions.
He joins the global insurance and reinsurance broker from Chaucer, where he was most recently Managing Director of its European operation, with responsibility for analytics, underwriting and parametric solutions for both emerging and developed markets. Prior to this, he was Chief Risk Officer at Montpelier Re Bermuda and Head of Risk Analytics.
He brings more than 25 years of risk management experience to the role, and also has expertise as a seismologist/geologist in academia and disaster research with a PHD in Geoscience.
