Great American Insurance Group has announced the promotion of Thomas V. Colosi to Divisional President, Alternative Markets.
Collectively, Colosi has 35 years of insurance experience and has expertise in underwriting specialty captives and programs.
He joined Alternative Markets in 2014 and has since held numerous leadership roles within the division.
He most recently served as Divisional Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer.
Alternative Markets specialises in niche program business, offering a variety of traditional and risk-sharing program options on an admitted basis. Product offerings include countrywide Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Property, Inland Marine, Auto, and Umbrella, as well as a Business Owners Policy (BOP) and Package.
Programs range from monoline to multiline, with bundled or unbundled services. Great American explains that Alternative Markets is uniquely designed to address all needs of a program including Underwriting, Marketing, Claims, Actuarial, Product, IT, Operations Services, and more.
Before joining Great American, Colosi served as Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer at SPARTA Insurance Company. His longest tenure was at the Hartford, where he spent 12 years, chiefly as Assistant Vice President.
In related news, earlier this year, Great American announced the promotions of Brian D. DeSoto, Carrie A. Little and Richard L. Suter to the role of Divisional Group President.
