Great American Insurance Group has announced the retirement of Mark Lonneman, divisional president of its Property & Casualty group’s risk solutions division.
Lonneman’s departure is effective in April and will see him part ways with a company he joined 41 years ago as a casualty underwriter in the agriculture excess and surplus lines operation.
He later joined the home office underwriting department in 1985 and held positions of increasing responsibility in underwriting management roles.
In 2010, Lonneman was named divisional president of the specialty E&S division.
He assumed his current role in 2018, when he successfully led the merger of the specialty E&S division and American empire surplus lines insurance company to form Great American Risk Solutions.
Lonneman will be succeeded by Brian DeSoto, divisional senior vice president of Great American Risk Solutions. DeSoto joined Great American in 2008.
