Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance broking arm of Marsh McLennan, has announced the appointment of Lukas Müller as a Chairman MEA, effective September 1, 2025.
Based in Zurich, Müller brings significant experience in client engagement across all lines of business and will be collaborating with clients and colleagues throughout the Middle East & Africa.
Müller’s career includes a significant tenure at Swiss Re, where he held various underwriting positions from 1990 to 2000 across Engineering, Property and Casualty Lines of business.
He subsequently took over the P&C responsibilities as a Client Manager for the Arab Gulf States and in 2008 he was promoted to the position of Head of Client Management for the Middle East, Turkey and Pakistan markets.
Three years later Müller was appointed Head Market Underwriting for Africa which combines both Marketing & Underwriting responsibilities across North & Sub Saharan Africa. And in 2017 he was promoted to the role as Head of the Middle East & Pakistan region with combined responsibilities for P&C and L&H.
His experience also includes a period as interim head of Swiss Re West Africa, and also as an Strategic Advisor for the reinsurer.
