Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has announced the hire of Richard Carver as a Managing Director and Senior Broker in the firm’s UK non-marine broking division.
Carver was most recently a Managing Director at Aon, having been at the firm for more than 15 years, based in London and Bermuda.
Carver will be based in London for Guy Carpenter and will report to James Boyce, Deputy CEO of Global Specialties at the broker. He is expected to take up the new role in May 2019.
Carver has more than 30 years of experience in the reinsurance sector, both on the underwriting and broking sides of the market.
As well as his more than 15 years with broker Aon, Carver also held roles as Reinsurance Underwriting Director at Brit and the Active Underwriter at St Paul at Lloyd’s Syndicate 314, with experience gained in underwriting both property and casualty reinsurance lines of business.
Boyce commented on the hire, “Richard’s expertise covers many components of the industry, spanning different lines of business in the broking and underwriting sectors in both the London and Bermuda markets. During his career, he has become a highly respected market practitioner and will be a fantastic addition to our non-marine specialty team.”
