Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance arm of global brokerage Marsh, has announced the launch of Hybrid Solutions UK, a new facultative operation that will be led by Laurence Upton.
The new Hybrid Solutions UK team becomes part of GC Fac, and will focus on developing semi-automatic facultative solutions that sit between traditional facultative transactions and treaty programs.
By developing hybrid solutions, GC Fac will be able to provide improved customisation opportunities to its clients in response to their evolving needs.
Upton takes on the role of Managing Director and Head of Hybrid Solutions UK. He joins the company from insurance and reinsurance broker Willis Towers Watson (WTW) where he served as Head of London Market Fac. In his new role, he will be responsible for growing the new unit, enhancing existing relationships and developing innovative facultative solutions.
He will be based in London and reports to Dominic Samengo-Turner, Global Head of Facultative, Guy Carpenter.
The senior team will also include Jason Higgs as Deputy Head of Hybrid Solutions UK, who joins from Thompson Heath, and Alex Groves as Senior Vice President, who joins from WTW.
