Bjoern Hagendorff has been promoted to Vice President and Deputy Head Area 1 in Hamburg, Germany, at Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions.
Hagendorff has been with Aon since 2015, when she joined the company as a Client Manager and Broker. Since then, he has held a number of roles with the most recent one being Divisional Director and Divisional Head Germany 1.
Prior to joining Aon, Hagendorff was a Ph.D Researcher at Hannover Re, where he looked at “Natural Catastrophes and Insurance Securitization – Performance and Risk Implications”. Before that, he spent over a year with ERGO Versicherungsgruppe AG as a Claims Settlement Assistant.
Hagendorff has also published in high quality business journals – such as Journal of Corporate Finance, Risk Analysis or Journal of Financial Services Research.
The news of Hagendorff’s promotion follows Aon’s appointment of Anneliesse Oliveros as the Head of EMEA, Global Broking Centre, a London-based role.
Also, earlier in the month, the re/insurance broker announced a new structure for its Reinsurance Solutions UK leadership team, which according to Aon, reflects its ongoing aim to place clients at the centre of its growth strategy and drive internal collaboration.
This restructure includes Richard Wheeler’s and Tom Murray’s appointment as co-leaders of Global Re Specialty (GRS), who will be working alongside Mark Skilton as Chair of the team.
