Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer, Hamilton Insurance Group, has announced the addition of Marvin Pestcoe of Langhorne Re to its Board of Directors.
Langhorne Re is the joint-venture, third-party capital-backed life and annuity reinsurer that was launched by reinsurer RenaissanceRe and life reinsurer, Reinsurance Group of America.
At Langhorne Re, Pestcoe serves as the reinsurer’s Executive Chair and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His career in the re/insurance sector spans 35 years, and includes numerous leadership roles that focused on profit centre management, investments, corporate strategy, data analysis, and also risk management.
Previously, he has served as Chief Risk and Actuarial Officer at PartnerRe where he had oversight of risk, capital modelling, and reserve functions as well as strategic investments. He was with PartnerRe for 18 years, and during this time held numerous senior management roles, including CEO of Life & Health, Chief Investment Officer, and Head of Strategic Ventures.
Prior to working for reinsurer PartnerRe, Pestcoe spent time with reinsurance giant Swiss Re as Chief Actuary within its New Markets division.
