Large in-force life and annuity focused reinsurer, Langhorne Re, has named Marvin Pestcoe as Executive Chair and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Langhorne Re Bermuda.
Langhorne Re was launched last year by Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) and RenaissanceRe (RenRe), which, at the time, secured $780 million of equity capital commitments including investments from the founders.
After its launch, the reinsurer announced the hiring of its first CEO and COO, before revealing in March last year that Steve Zonca was set to lead its U.S. subsidiaries.
Now, the reinsurer has announced the appointment of Pestcoe to lead Langhorne Re’s strategy and operations.
He brings over 30 years of industry experience to the role, and most recently served as Chief Risk and Actuarial Officer at PartnerRe, also serving on the firm’s executive committee. Before this, he served in a number of senior management positions at PartnerRe, including CEO Life & Health, Chief Investment Officer (CIO), and also Head of Strategic Ventures.
