Hamilton Re hires Minesh Shah, outlines senior leadership changes

Hamilton Insurance Group subsidiary, Hamilton Re, has announced the appointment of Minesh Shah as Senior Vice President (SVP), Actuary, and also revealed some senior role changes.

In his newly-created role as SVP, Actuary, Hamilton Re, Shah will report to Chief Risk Officer (CRO), Pete Skerlj. Having previously held positions in both Bermuda and the UK with Platinum Underwriters, Renaissance Re and XL Catlin, Shah brings more than 20 years of reinsurance industry experience to the role.

The reinsurer has also announced that Richard Sammons, who has been with the firm since October 2014, has been named Head of Specialty with a responsibility for the development of the firm’s Specialty business, reporting to Claude Lefebvre, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), Casualty & Specialty, Hamilton Re.

Furthermore, Sam Thomsen, who also joined the firm in 2014, will take on the newly-created role as SVP, Head of Technology, and will report to CRO Pete Skerlj. To support and execute the company’s technology roadmap, Thomsen also concerts with Matt Isaly, SVP, Head of Information Systems.
