Firdaus Kasman has been promoted as the new Team Lead for Korea at German reinsurer Hannover Re.
This move comes as a part of the company’s streamlining of its P&C operations. Kasman will be expanding his role in managing the Korean P&C treaty portfolio together with the company’s Korean underwriters.
Kasman was previously in charge of the Affinity team and will continue his previous responsibilities in the Affinity space (Warranty, Online Protect and A & H risks, among others) for all markets under the responsibility of its Malaysian Branch; i.e South and Southeast Asia (ex. India), Korea & Japan.
Commenting on his hire, Kasman mentioned, “Personally, Korea has always been an important market for me and I am very much looking forward to working closely with our business partners in the coming months.”
This marks the 5th year that Kasman has worked for Hannover Re, he previously worked as the Head of Consumption, Accident & Health Ecosystem for the ASEAN, South Asian, South Korean and Japanese markets.
Before Hannover Re, Kasman also worked as an Actuarial Analyst for Actuarial Partners Consulting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He overlooked the markets of Malaysia, Brunei, Sri Lanka and Mauritius. He was in charge of a range of re/insurance including life, family and general as well as takaful and conventional.
