HDI Global Specialty SE, the specialty lines insurer launched as a collaborative venture between Hannover Re and HDI Global, has named Alan Waters as its Global Head of Distribution and Business Development, effective immediately.
In this newly created role, which has been established to support the firm’s growth and also the management of its global distribution network, Waters will report to Richard Taylor, a member of the Executive Board of Management and UK Managing Director at HDI Global Specialty SE.
The internal appointment sees Waters joins from HDI Global SE UK Branch, where for nine years he served as Director of Corporate Risks division and was a member of the UK Executive team. He brings more than 30 years of experience in broking, primarily responsible for UK and then also global placement strategy with Aon and HSBC, respectively.
Taylor commented: “I’m delighted to be working again with Alan. He was integral in the successful creation of HDI Global SE UK’s regional presence and with his vast experience in the strategic management of distribution, will be a great addition to our global operations.”
