HDI names Simon Hunt as CFO for UK & Ireland

5th October 2022 - Author: Pete Carvill

HDI Global has appointed Simon Hunt to be the CFO for its UK and Ireland branch.

HDI Global logoHunt will take on his role immediately. He is currently CFO of the UK branch of HDI Global Specialty. He will now be responsible for both HDI Global UK & Ireland branch (HDIG) and HSUB Finance and Risk functions in the UK and Ireland.

He will continue to report to Richard Taylor, CEO of HDI UK & Ireland, with an additional reporting line to Stephanie Ogden, managing director of HDIG.

Hunt will retain responsibility for HSUB’s operations division. His appointment comes because of former CFO Richard Mangion departing the post at the end of August.

Taylor said: “Simon continues to do a fantastic job for our UK specialty business; in three years, he has transformed our finance and operations functions. With his role now spanning our commercial and specialty business, it will enable us to deliver a consistent approach across all three branches in the UK and Ireland.”

Taylor took on his role in May when HDI said it was restructuring its UK and Ireland operations in order to align its commercial and specialty businesses.

Taylor was appointed to lead the operation in the new role of UK and Ireland chief executive officer, overseeing both HDIG and HGS businesses.

At the same time, Taylor was to retain his position as a Member of HGS’ Executive Board.

In addition, Stephanie Ogden and Rafael Rebitzky were slated to support Taylor within his new role. Ogden was appointed managing director, HDIG UK & Ireland, having previously held the position of director of underwriting and distribution.

Ogden said of Hunt’s appointment: “I am pleased to welcome Simon to the executive team at HDI. I look forward to working with him in his new role as CFO for both organisations. I’d like to personally thank Richard Mangion for all he has delivered for HDI in the last eight years and wish him every success for his future.”
