Specialist re/insurer Hiscox has announced the appointment of Matthew Wilken, previously of MS Amlin, as the new Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for Hiscox Re & ILS, effective January 10th, 2022.
Based in Bermuda, Wilken is set to become a member of the Hiscox Re & ILS Executive team and will report into Kathleen Reardon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the division.
He joins from specialty re/insurer MS Amlin, where he most recently served as Head of Reinsurance.
Earlier in his career, Wilken spent time with Kiln Syndicate in numerous underwriting roles, becoming Deputy Active Underwriter for Kiln Reinsurance.
He then joined Argo Re as CUO of Argo Re Short Tail and was later named President.
Following this, Wilken moved to Ariel Re as Active Underwriter S1910 & Deputy Global Head of Reinsurance. He took on his most recent role at MS Amlin in May of 2021.
