Lloyd’s of London insurer and reinsurer, MS Amlin Underwriting Limited (MS AUL), has added Matthew Wilken to the newly created role of Head of Reinsurance Division, based in London.
In his new role, Wilken will report to Andrew Carrier, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of MS AUL, effective in early May, subject to regulatory approval.
Wilken joins from Ariel Re where he most recently served as Active Underwriter of Syndicate 1910 and Deputy Global Head of Reinsurance.
Ariel Re was recently sold by parent Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. to private equity investors Pelican Ventures and J.C. Flowers & Co.
Wilken has more than three decades of reinsurance industry experience, having started his career at Kiln Syndicate where he held numerous positions before taking on the role of Active Underwriter. He joined Argo Re in 2008 as CUO and in 2013 was named President.
