Reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has appointed Hiscox’s Liz Kim to its 40-plus strong cyber reinsurance team, based in San Francisco.
The hire sees Gallagher Re continue its strategic investment in industry talent and specialist expertise to meet the evolving needs of clients and growing exposures.
In her new role, Kim will further enhance the support and service of clients based on the U.S. West Coast, complementing the broker’s expertise already established in New York, as well as the firm’s dedicated cyber teams in Bermuda and London.
She will collaborate with the global cyber consultancy, analytics and alternative cyber solutions teams on a range of initiatives. Additionally, Kim will work closely with Gallagher Re’s wider and extensive team of U.S.-based colleagues.
Kim joins the firm from specialist insurer and reinsurer, Hiscox, where she most recently served as Group Director of Cyber Underwriting, responsible for global cyber underwriting strategy including exposure management, coverage developments, pricing, claims performance and reinsurance strategy, and also the execution of silent cyber reduction plans.
She also served as Head of Claims for Hiscox’s TMT unit, where she was responsible for managing all of its technology, media, and cyber claims at a time when technology-related exposures were in their early stages of evolution, before moving into product innovation and development.
Kim has been an Attorney by profession since 1997, during which time she mostly practised in insurance.
