Hive Aero, the London-based managing general agency (MGA), has announced that it has expanded into underwriting excess third-party aviation war liabilities.
The company’s capacity for 2019 is $47.5 million, backed by Lloyd’s insurers Beazley and Arch.
Hive Aero began underwriting aviation hull war in April 2018 and increased its capacity to $52.5 million in 2019 following a successful first year.
“This is a fantastic step in the right direction and comes at a time when many underwriters have reduced their participations or have withdrawn from aviation classes completely,” said Bruce Carman, Chief Underwriting Officer at Hive Aero.
“There are a number of opportunities out there, especially with accounts such as the AVN52, which to-date, has not experienced any losses,” he continued.
“Hive Aero offers a first-class service to brokers and their clients and will continue to extend the value proposition we offer our partner carriers.”
Hive Aero is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hive Underwriting Limited and an appointed representative of Integro Limited.
