Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Howden has announced the launch of its U.S. Aviation Practice, led by Julio Jimenez.
Rapidly shifting geopolitical conditions are creating increasingly complex and fast-moving exposures for U.S. aviation operators. For domestic carriers and international operators alike, the risk environment has never been more demanding. At the same time, widespread broker consolidation has left aviation clients without the dedicated, technical service their exposures require.
In response, Howden’s U.S. Aviation Practice is designed to address these challenges, combining technical expertise with a strong service offering for clients.
The practice will deliver comprehensive risk management services and insurance placement across a broad range of clients in the aviation ecosystem.
It will serve commercial airlines, fixed-base operators (FBOs), charter operators, aircraft and parts manufacturers, military contractors, public entities, and aerospace companies.
Julio Jimenez, Aviation Practice Leader, brings extensive experience and expertise across the aviation sector. He joins Howden after eight years at USI Insurance Services, where he most recently served as Partner | Vice President, Risk Management Consultant.
Jimenez said, “Aviation companies are being squeezed from two directions at once. The geopolitical environment is creating real, immediate volatility in risk profiles and insurance needs. Meanwhile, the insurance industry continues to underinvest in and underservice a sector that is incredibly complex, dynamic, and exposed. These two forces underpin the need for a team with unmatched aviation expertise that’s empowered to design and deliver for aviation clients’ specialised needs – the team we’re launching today.”
Mike Parrish, CEO, Howden Americas, added, “Julio and the team have built their careers at the highest levels of this industry. In a market facing this much volatility, that matters enormously. Bringing them onto our platform means Aviation clients get access to global capabilities, expertise, and an unrelenting focus on what they truly need.”
