Hudson Insurance Group has appointed of Joseph Savarese to lead its wholesale casualty business unit, encompassing both primary general liability and excess liability.
Savarese most recently served as president of the primary casualty department at Navigators Specialty Insurance Company.
He has decades of experience in the industry, with previous roles covering primary underwriting, surplus lines broking and reinsurance broking.
In his new role, Savarese will report to Bill Schmidt, Senior Vice President at Hudson Insurance Group.
Concurrently, Hudson has recruited Gerard O’Neill and Michael Dempsey to focus on primary general liability, with O’Neill taking on the added responsibility of managing the company’s existing portfolio of excess liability business.

Hudson’s Wholesale Casualty unit focuses on construction risks and offers primary general liability with supported and unsupported excess products, as well as select products liability insurance.
