HW Kaufman Group, the parent company of wholesale brokerage and managing general underwriter Burns & Wilcox has acquired Node international, a managing general agent focused on cyber-risk and technology-related insurance solutions.
The deal marks the group’s 20th acquisition in nine years and has been described by Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Alan Jay Kaufman as a way to deepen the firm’s bench of expertise and help it stay ahead of the, “ever-changing needs in the digital space.”
Node International’s CEO Neil Gurnhill founded the company in 2017 and will continue to lead the company as it joins the Kaufman network.
As part of the acquisition, Node will join HW Kaufman Group London—adding to the company’s offerings in the United Kingdom.
H.W. Kaufman Group London includes: Chesterfield Group, Lochain Patrick, Cranbrook Underwriting and Node International and is led by Managing Director, James Stevenson.
“The acquisition strategically provides our clients and partners across the United Kingdom and North America access to Node International’s innovative cyber products and quick quoting platform,” Kaufman added.
“Joining forces with H.W. Kaufman Group is a very exciting move for us and our clients,” said Gurnhill. “We will combine our expertise at Node in underwriting and placing risks in Cyber and Technology Liability with the powerful brand, distribution, and infrastructure that H.W. Kaufman Group has to offer.”
