Ironshore has announced the appointment of James R. Swan as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Insurance Americas, in addition to adding several new members to the New York based team.
Valentine Han, Scott G. Pegram, Victoria Rosales and Hilary Weiss will all join M&A production specialist Cristina Merry del Val in reporting to Swan, who is now tasked with overseeing Ironshore’s M&A activities for complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions within the North and Latin America regions.
Rowan Bamford, Global Head of Ironshore’s M&A and Tax team, said: “Ironshore is experiencing robust activity for mergers and acquisitions insurance solutions throughout its global footprint, particularly with heightened demand in the Americas.
“Our new team of specialists, under James’s leadership, will address multifaceted transactional risk using their combined legal and underwriting experience to further deepen our capabilities in this growing regional marketplace.”
Swan joins Ironshore from Aon, where he most recently served as Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the M&A and Transaction Solutions division.
He has over 10 years’ experience in the M&A sector, having previously worked as a corporate attorney at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, and as Director and COO of EMEA M&A and EMEA Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) in the Investment Division of Citi.
“This is an exciting opportunity to build a market-leading team focused on service and execution on complex transactional risk,” said Swan. “We now have the opportunity to offer Representations & Warranties coverages, among others, that complement and enhance the wide breadth of commercial insurance products and services Liberty Mutual offers clients throughout the Americas.”
Additional appointments include Valentine Han to the post of M&A Acquisitions Counsel, and Scott G. Pegram to the role of M&A Production Specialist, who join Ironshore from Reed Smith and AIG respectively.
Victoria Rosales and Hilary Weiss also join Ironshore as M&A Production Specialists from Wilkie Farr & Gallagher and XL Catlin respectively, while Cristina Merry del Val has been promoted to the same positions, having previously served as Specialty Lines Manager for the Latin American region at Ironshore.
