James River appoints two new Board members

Bermuda-based insurance holdings company James River Group Holdings has announced the appointments of Christopher L. Harris and Sundar Srinivasan to its Board of Directors.

James River Group HoldingsHarris and Srinivasan have also been appointed to the Board of Directors’ Audit Committee and Investment Committee, respectively.

Harris has 25 years’ experience in the global re/insurance industry and was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of property and casualty (P&C) reinsurer Montpelier Holdings from 2008 until its sale to Endurance in 2015.

He also held positions such as Chief Underwriting Officer, Chief Risk Officer and Chief Actuary at Montpelier, and more recently served as Chairman of the Board of Blue Capital Reinsurance Holdings from 2013 to 2015.

Earlier in his career, Harris was Chief Actuary for a reinsurer and managed the risk advisory practice for a large accounting firm.

Srinivasan is the founder of Emerald Lake Safety and was formerly a Portfolio Manager at investment fund Elliott Management, where he worked with both private equity and public securities.

He has also chaired or served on numerous public and private company boards, including Blue Knight Energy Partners, DICE, Answer Financial and James River and was previously a Vice President in the Investment Banking Group at Morgan Stanley and a Management Consultant at Oliver Wyman.

Sundar has extensive experience in investment management, and is very familiar with James River, having previously served as a director from 2007 to 2012.”
