Specialist insurance and reinsurance broker BMS Group has announced the appointment of Pete Chandler from JLT Re as President of its US reinsurance operations, effective May 27th, 2019.
In his new role, which subject to regulatory approval sees him join the BMS US Board, Chandler will report to Steve Korducki, US reinsurance Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Most recently, Chandler was Deputy CEO of the US reinsurance broking division of JLT Re. Prior to joining JLT Re in 2016, he was Managing Director of Marsh’s Western Region, and was previously North American COO for reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, and an Executive Vice President at Benfield.
Commenting on his appointment, Chandler said: “There is a huge opportunity in the US for an independent broker of BMS’s ambition, analytical and actuarial capability and entrepreneurial culture. The investment BMS has made in talent, innovation and analytics has made it the most significant independent broker in the market and I’m delighted to join such a formidable team.”
The appointment of Chandler is the latest in a series of appointments at BMS, after it successfully achieved the £100 million annual revenue benchmark.
