Liberty Mutual has announced the appointment of Jessica Dekermanji to National Insurance Specialty Energy unit Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO).
In her new role, Dekermanji will head up a team focused on growing the firm’s energy product solutions and integrating new technologies to improve clients’ cost and efficiency in risk management.
She will report to David Perez, Executive Vice President (EVP) and General Manager of Liberty Mutual’s Commercial Insurance Specialty Unit.
Dekermanji commented on the firm’s energy solutions; “Our energy team has focused on power and utility, oil and gas, and renewable energy for over 20 years, and recently expanded its appetite to include mining.
“We understand the risks faced by the energy industry and partner with brokers and buyers to identify ways to effectively manage and mitigate those exposures. Today, we offer property, workers compensation, auto and general liability, and – through Ironshore – specialty products, so that brokers can better meet the needs of energy companies.”
Prior to her appointment, Dekermanji most recently acted as Senior Underwriting Manager in the Specialty Energy area for Liberty Mutual.
She joined the firm in 2002 and has held a number of senior commercial insurance field operations, product management and underwriting positions.
