Liberty Mutual Re, the reinsurance arm of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Uwe Haug as Head of Underwriting Strategy and Business Development for its global financial risks reinsurance business.
Haug spent the previous two decades at Hannover Re, most recently leading its global specialty portfolio as General Manager for Northern, Central and Eastern Europe, North America, Africa and Asia Pacific.
He brings a total of 24 years’ experience to his new position and specialises in broad, multi-class specialty reinsurance underwriting.
Haug will now be tasked with leading the financial risks reinsurance business at Liberty Mutual Re alongside Susan Barber, and will have full underwriting authority in addition to his strategic responsibilities.
Haug is due to take up the position from 1 March 2019, and will be based in Cologne, Germany.
