Liberty Specialty makes promotions within FRS division

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has promoted two members of its Financial Risk Solutions (FRS) division while expanding its Political Risk team.

liberty-specialty-marketsThe company announced that Huw Owen will become FRS chief underwriting officer, with his current role of head of underwriting and London markets being taken up by Sam Wilde.

Peter Sprent, global head of FRS at LSM, said: “The credit and political risk insurance market has grown significantly in both scale and complexity over the past 10 years, and we expect this trend to continue.”

He added: “We are investing in our teams to ensure that we can provide the highest level of service to our clients and broking partners.”

In addition, Mia Jureidini joins the FRS division as political risk underwriter with immediate effect. She will be based in London, reporting to William Limb, LSM’s political risk practice Leader. Jureidini was formerly Senior Broker with WTW.

These recent moves at LSM follow last year’s multiple new hirings, largely for its German offices.

In February, it appointed Terry Fitzgerald to be its divisional head of financial and professional lines, following this in April by naming Jane Warren as active underwriter, and hiring Christoph Paeßens, as its professional indemnity underwriting manager for Germany.

Further hires were made in June and September with François Barriol and Michael Harth were added to its French and German teams.
