Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), a division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Meghan Walker as Head of Aviation for the London Market Specialty division.
In this role, Walker will be responsible for delivering LSM’s global Aviation strategy, and for leading and developing aviation underwriting team.
Meanwhile, Bill Halligan, the previous Head of Aviation, will take up the newly created role of Underwriting Specialist (Aviation).
Going forward, Halligan will advise the aviation team on technical direction and strategy, and train and develop underwriters in their line of business.
Meghan has been with LSM for seven years, before which she held roles at Aon and Lockton.
She will now report to Mike Gosselin, Chief Underwriting Officer Specialty at Liberty Specialty Markets, who commented: “Meghan’s promotion is well-deserved.”
“Since joining LSM, she has proven herself to be an excellent underwriter; strong people leader; and very capable of building highly effective business relationships both internally and externally.”
Halligan has also been with LSM for seven years and held various senior positions in the market before joining LSM. He will report to Walker.
