The London Market Group (LMG) has revealed that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UK & Lloyd’s market at AXA XL, Sean McGovern, has become the new sponsor for the business environment workstream.
The workstream proactively engages with the UK government, parliamentary parties and the civil service, ensuring they better understand the position of the London Market and its place in the UK economy.
In this role, McGovern replaces Malcolm Newman, Managing Director, EMEA Hub, global insurer and reinsurer SCOR.
Matthew Moore, Chair of the LMG and CEO of Liberty Specialty Markets, commented: “Over the last five years, we have built a broad range of relationships across Westminster and Whitehall, establishing a clear identity and voice for the London Market and a much better understanding of its contribution to the UK economy and its specific needs. Adding, “I am delighted that Sean has agreed to take over as sponsor. The depth of his experience in the London market gained from his time as General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer at Lloyd’s gives him a great perspective on the work that we are doing.
