Insurance and reinsurance broker Lockton has hired Robert Rechtern, formerly of Aon UK, to be its new Head of Accident & Health (A&H), Sports and Contingency within its Wholesale Property & Casualty (P&C) segment, effective November 2nd, 2022.

In his new role, Rechtern assumes responsibility for maintaining the growth of the unit’s A&H, Sports and Contingency book of business, and will work in close collaboration with the firm’s U.S. and International offices and partners.

He brings more than 15 years of experience to the firm, joining from Aon UK, where he most recently served as Executive Director of the People Risk team. Earlier in his career, Rechtern held the role of Senior Vice President at reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter’s D&F business.

“We are delighted to welcome Rob to Lockton. His energy, breadth of expertise and hands on leadership experience in the Accident & Health, Contingency and Kidnap & Ransom segments will significantly enhance our US and International client service proposition in these high-growth classes of business,” said Simon Scholfield, Head of Wholesale P&C at Lockton.

“Lockton’s pedigree speaks for itself. It has been impressive to watch the P&C division continue to go from strength to strength. I am thrilled to be leading the talented team here and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues from across our global network to provide creative, bespoke and market-leading solutions to our clients worldwide,” added Rechtern.
