Lockton Re, the reinsurance broking business of independent insurance broker Lockton, has appointed Amr Afifi as Head of Life & Health for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
In his new position, he will be responsible for leading Lockton Re’s Life & Health business across the MENA region.
Afifi brings more than 15 years of experience across the insurance and reinsurance sectors in the Middle East. Prior to joining Lockton Re, he spent more than 10 years with Reinsurance Group of America (RGA), where he served as Regional Director – Business Development for Group, Individual Life & Health and Credit Life.
Based in Dubai, he led business development and commercial strategy across the GCC and Egypt, developing relationships with insurers, brokers, distribution partners and senior industry stakeholders. His responsibilities included strategic account planning, negotiations, solution development and identifying new market opportunities.
Before RGA, Afifi spent almost five years with AXA Insurance Gulf as Regional Head – Group, Individual & Credit Life. During his time with AXA, he was responsible for regional growth, distribution and strategic partnerships across the GCC.
At Lockton Re, Afifi’s focus will include developing the company’s Life & Health platform across MENA, strengthening relationships with clients and market participants, and building a regional team.
