Maria V. Amelio has been promoted to Head of US Casualty at Switzerland-headquarter MS Reinsurance, part of insurance group MS&AD.
Amelio joined the company in 2021 as Lead Casualty Underwriter, a role she held for over two years prior to her promotion. During this time, she was responsible for the company’s casualty business portfolio.
Before this, Amelio served at WKFC Underwriting Managers / CorRisk Solutions, for almost four years. There she held a number of positions, including Executive Vice President and CUO, Speciality Casualty.
Amelio’s promotion follows a number of recent appointments at MS Reinsurance, including Kate McDonald’s, who has been named Chief Strategy Officer, and Serge Taleb, who was appointed Chief of Staff.
MS Reinsurance has also appointed Marcus Pollak as Head of Underwriting Operations, Benedikt Schmid as Chief Information and Data Officer, Susanne Gnädinger as Chief Transformation Officer, and Stefan Behr as Head of EMEA Group Clients, International Casualty and Engineering.
