Markel Corporation has announced the hire of Amandeep Dhillon as its new Managing Director, and Global Head of Catastrophe and Exposure Management.
Dhillon will be based in Markel’s Glen Allen, Virginia office and will report to Kryszon.
Dhillon’s remit in this role includes leading Markel’s approach to catastrophe and exposure management across the company’s global insurance and reinsurance platform.
Dhillion will also be responsible for managing exposure across all lines of coverage, including property and marine, casualty, cyber, and professional liability.

Dhillon is a market veteran with more than 15 years of experience in the insurance business, working in multiple areas including catastrophe risk management and ceded reinsurance.
Prior to this, Dhillion was in various senior positions at AIG for over 7 years.
Dhillion started his career at ACE Group as AVP of Catastrophe Risk Management and was with the company for more than 9 years.
