20th January 2022 - Author: Katie Baker

Markel International, a subsidiary of the Markel Corporation, has appointed Matthew Brooke as a war and terrorism underwriter.

The latest move forms part of the organisation’s growth plans to strengthen its current position in the war and terrorism market.

He will report to Will Newman, senior underwriter for war and terrorism and head of Africa at Markel International.

Brooke will underwrite the London team’s war and terrorism portfolio of business, develop new opportunities, and forge strong relationships with clients.

He joins from W/R/B Underwriting, where he started out as an operations assistant, progressing to underwriter where he held responsibility for underwriting the organisation’s political risk and political violence (PV) portfolio.
