Marsh appoints Sastry Durvasula to Chief Digital, Data & Analytics Officer

Marsh announced the appointment of Sastry Durvasula, who joins from a role as Enterprise Head of Data and Digital Technology with American Express, to Chief Digital Officer and Chief Data & Analytics Officer, effective August 14th, 2017.

Sastry DurvasulaDurvasula will head up Marsh’s global development and delivery of digital processes, data analytics, and client-facing technology as well as oversee Marsh ClearSight – the firm’s provider of risk, safety, and claims management software.

John Drzik, President, Global Risk & Specialties, Marsh, who Durvasula will report to, said; “Leveraging significant opportunities arising from emerging technology is fundamental to how Marsh serves clients and helps them achieve their business goals.

“Sastry brings a superior in-depth knowledge of digital technologies – including big data, blockchain, and artificial intelligence – and a proven track record of leading enterprise transformation at scale.

“We’re delighted that Sastry is joining us to develop Marsh’s global digital strategy and help us harness technology, data and analytics to benefit our clients, carrier partners and colleagues.”

Prior to his appointment, Durvasula worked for American Express since 2002, most recently serving as Enterprise Head of Data and Digital Technology where he was responsible for leadership of the firm’s internal and external facing digital capabilities.

He earned his Masters degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, holds several patents and plays an active role in leading industry consortia.
