Global insurance and reinsurance broker Marsh has appointed Andrew Hickman to the newly created role of Global Head of Data Science within its broader Digital, Data, and Analytics Practice.
Hickman will now be responsible for advancing Marsh’s risk modelling and actuarial capabilities to drive new client solutions, building external data and analytics partnerships in collaboration with Marsh Digital Labs to use the latest data science and machine learning techniques.
He brings more than 20 years of data science, risk modelling, and software development experience to the role, and joins Marsh from Experian DataLabs, where he most recently served as Vice President of Applied Research.
Hickman has also previously held a number of risk management, analytics, and research and development roles at QVT Financial, Risk Management Solutions, and Oliver Wyman.
In his new role, he is based in New York and reports to Sastry Durvasula, Chief Digital Officer and Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Marsh.
