Marsh has promoted Ellen Charnley from global sales leader to president of its Marsh Captive Solutions business with immediate effect.
Charnley will assume leadership of Marsh’s advisory solutions and 1,200 captives in 44 domiciles around the world, reporting to Michael Poulos, Marsh’s Client Advisory Services Leader, and succeeding Nick Durant, who has joined Guy Carpenter in a senior advisory role.
Commenting on the appointment, Poulos said; “In today’s ever-changing, complex risk environment, it is critical that we deliver strategic advice powered by advanced data, analytics, and technology solutions to our captive clients. Ellen is a proven leader with extensive captive expertise and is ideally suited to lead our practice going forward.”
Charnley has worked in the captives industry for more than 20 years and most recently served as global sales leader of Marsh Captive Solutions and other consulting businesses within Marsh.
Prior to that, she was responsible for Marsh’s West Zone Captive Advisory Practice and served as the office head of Marsh’s Hawaii, Arizona, and Nevada captive management operations, and she spent 10 years in Marsh Bermuda.
