Miguel Baptista named Chief Data Officer of Hyperion X

London-headquartered Hyperion Insurance Group has named Miguel Baptista the Chief Data Officer of Hyperion X, its recently launched business targeting key areas of data, analytics and digital platform delivery.

miguel baptista He joins from biopharmaceutical company MSD where he served as Senior Director of Information Platforms.

In his new role, Baptista will oversee Hyperion X’s collection, use and analysis of data, providing insight for the ongoing development of a range of digital products of appeal to clients and business partners at every point in the insurance distribution chain.

“Miguel will be a huge asset to us as he not only has the deep technical knowledge that we require to deliver results but also the creativity and strategic mindset that will drive innovation and growth,” said Barnaby Rugge-Price, Chief Executive Officer of Hyperion X.

“By combining our expertise in international insurance markets with improved business insights from data, we can use technology to lower costs, to enhance our client interactions and to create new market spaces.”

Led by Rugge-Price and Elliot Richardson, Hyperion X sits alongside its existing broking businesses Howden Broking Group, RKH Specialty, and MGA DUAL.

Hyperion X will also manage Hyperion’s third-party insurtech investments, as well as incubating its own start-up ventures.
