MS Amlin Insurance names Herbert Baeten as CUO for P/C

MS Amlin Insurance SE has named Herbert Baeten as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for its Property and Casualty (P/C) business lines, subject to regulatory approvals.

ms-amlin-logoThis announcement comes after the decision of Rudy Benmeridja to retire at the end of 2020.

Baeten will assume his new role from the start of February 2021, reporting to Ludovic Sénécaut, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MS Amlin Insurance SE.

Additionally, the country manager position for Belgium, previously held by Benmeridja, is taken up in the interim by Véronique Perottino, effective January 1st, 2021, in parallel with her country manager responsibilities for France.

Most recently, Baeten served as Chief Broking Officer and Managing Director for Specialty lines for Belgium and Luxembourg at re/insurance broker Aon. He brings more than two decades of industry experience to the firm, having previously worked at Ethias Insurance, AIG, and Zurich Insurance.

Commenting on the appointment, Sénécaut said: “I am delighted to welcome Herbert to MS AISE as Chief Underwriting Officer for Property and Casualty.
