Insurer and reinsurer MS Amlin has revealed that William Ho, currently Head of Reinsurance (Asia), has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MS Amlin Asia Pacific.
Ho’s appointment remains subject to regulatory approval and he takes over the responsibilities of CEO of the division from Simon Clarke, who is leaving the firm after a decade.
Ho joined MS Amlin in 2012 after previous roles in both broking and underwriting, and initially worked in London. Since 2014, he has been the leader of the re/insurer’s Asia reinsurance operation, based in Singapore.
Commenting on the appointment of Ho, MS Amlin Underwriting Limited CEO, Tom Clementi, said: “Since joining MS Amlin, Will has been an integral part of the reinsurance senior leadership team, originally in London and more recently in Singapore. Will has a wealth of experience that will be invaluable to the business going forwards.”
Discussing the departure of Clarke, Clementi added: “Simon Clarke has been at MS Amlin for the last 10 years and has led our business in Asia over that period with distinction. I would like to thank Simon personally for his energy and dedication to the business and wish him the very best for the future.”
