Global re/insurer MS Amlin, part of MS&AD Holdings, generated an insurance service profit of £307 million for FY’25, an increase of £92 million year-on-year from £215 million in FY’24.
The re/insurer has reported an increase in its profits of 79.9%, or £119 million to £268 million for 2025, compared to £149 million in 2024.
Meanwhile, net premiums written increased 26.9%, or £399 million to £1.9 billion, compared to £1.5 billion in 2024.
Net premiums earned rose by 13.3%, or £209 million to £1.8 billion, compared to £1.6 billion in 2024.
MS Amlin’s 2025 combined operating ratio improved to 83% compared to 86.2% in 2024, a 3.2 percentage point improvement, despite a loss environment that included the costly Los Angeles wildfires. For 2025, the company’s expense ratio improved by 0.3 percentage points to 37% from 37.3% in 2024.
The earnings forecast for April-March, which has been released simultaneously by the re/insurer, highlights that insurance revenue is expected to remain broadly stable versus fiscal year 2025 (+0.6% year-on-year).
