Mt. Logan Re Ltd, the third-party capital arm of Everest Re, has appointed Greg McBride to the newly created position of Global Head of Marketing and Business Development.

handshakeIn addition, the company also announced the retirement of Board Member David Whiting, who joined the company in 2013 and played a critical role in its evolution, serving as the company’s Chief Underwriting Officer, as well as being a former President too.

Within his new role, McBride will be responsible for the expansion of the Mt. Logan investor base with asset managers, pensions, sovereign wealth funds and endowments across the world.

Before joining Mt. Logan, McBride held senior positions at Markel Corporation and JLT Re, where he led insurance-linked securities and global and domestic reinsurance programs.

Mt. Logan President, John Modlin commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Greg and the calibre of experience he brings to Mt. Logan.

“With more than two decades of deep industry experience across reinsurance, ILS, and capital markets, Greg’s background and expertise position him well to expand our growing investor base. Greg will be key to increasing our property and catastrophe business and in developing new low correlation investment products to drive sustained growth and profitability.”

Meanwhile, the company also announced the appointment of Clint Graham to the role of Chief Underwriting Officer, following the announced retirement of David Whiting.

In his new role, Graham will be responsible for managing the risk share between Everest’s reinsurance business and Mt. Logan investors.

Graham joined Mt. Logan in the spring of 2021 as the Head of Property Underwriting Analytics.

Before joining the company, Graham served in a variety of underwriting, catastrophe modelling, and broking capacities at global re/insurance and asset management organisations including, Willis Re, Arch Re, and Nephila Capital.

Addressing Grahams new role, Modlin said: “I am also excited to name Clint Graham as our new Chief Underwriting Officer, subject to government and regulatory approvals. Clint brings a wealth of experience in the property catastrophe reinsurance and capital markets convergence spaces.

“With strong analytical skills and risk management acumen, I am confident Clint will successfully advance the underwriting discipline and leadership that David Whiting has brought to Mt. Logan since the company’s inception nine years ago.

“We want to thank David, who is retiring after serving in several leadership roles at Mt. Logan. He has had a long and successful career at the Company, and we wish him all the best in his retirement.”
