Philipp Wassenberg, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Munich Re Canada and Temple Insurance Company, has announced the appointment of Rissa Revin as CEO of its MGA subsidiary, DAS Legal Protection Inc., effective September 1, 2018.
Revin’s appointment follows the recent amalgamation of DAS Canada and Temple, and she will now be tasked with leading DAS Legal Protection with responsibility for sales and distribution, marketing, underwriting, administration and claims management.
She joined Munich Re and Temple in 2014 and served as Senior Vice President, Claims, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for both companies. She was also Chief Compliance Officer and worked extensively with the companies’ Board of Directors.
In her new role, Revin will continue to work closely with her former colleagues at Temple as it becomes the new risk carrier for DAS business in Canada, focusing on driving growth in the Canadian Legal Expense Insurance market.
Revin has over 27 years’ experience in the legal insurance, and banking industries, and has held various executive positions at companies such as Aon Risk Solutions, Bank of Montreal, Liberty Mutual, and Chubb, with a particular focus on the specialty markets.
As CEO of DAS Legal Protection, Revin succeeds Barbara Haynes, who will retire from DAS Canada after serving for more than eight years as the founding President and CEO.
