Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. (Munich Re US), a subsidiary of reinsurance giant Munich Re, has appointed Anita Kuchma as Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the Reinsurance Division.
In her new role, Kuchma will report directly to Steve Levy, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Reinsurance Division at Munich Re US, and will also become a member of the Reinsurance Division’s Executive Leadership Team.
She first joined Munich Re 27 years ago, and during her time with the reinsurer has held a number of underwriting positions, including several management positions. Previously, she has served as Deputy Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of Planning and Controlling. Kuchma joined the Reinsurance Division in 2019 to lead the Professional Liability and Cyber team.
Commenting on her appointment, Levy said: “We welcome Anita to this new executive leadership role. With 27 years of experience at Munich Re in a variety of leadership positions, Anita has an in-depth understanding of our business and is uniquely qualified to assume the COO position. She is a highly respected professional, dedicated to promoting engaged, team-based problem solving.
“Her strong track record in both financial management and underwriting gives her a unique perspective that will help guide our organization as we continue to seek ways to help our clients protect against new and evolving risks.”
