Liberty Specialty Markets Bermuda (LSM Bermuda), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has appointed Nicholas Garside to the position of Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO).
In this newly created role, he will report to LSM Bermuda President Steve Horton.
Garside – who previously led LSM Bermuda’s property unit – will provide strategic direction and leadership for LSM Bermuda’s underwriting functions, driving portfolio optimisation and enhancing broker engagement across all coverage lines.
In addition to Garside’s appointment, LSM Bermuda made several appointments to the team serving under him.
These include the appointment of Joanna Din to LMS Bermuda Head of Specialty Risk, Andrew Osborne to Head of Bermuda Healthcare, and Daniel Rance to Head of Financial Lines.
“Nick has the ideal blend of leadership and underwriting management experience to thrive in this new role,” said Horton.
“Appointing a Chief Underwriting Officer to oversee all of our coverage offerings provides the management oversight needed for us to continue to outperform the market.”
