Specialty Lloyd’s of London managing general agent, Occam Underwriting, has appointed Mark Fisher to Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Currently the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Fisher has been at Occam for the last three years and holds 25 years of experience within the insurance industry.
He has worked with both carriers and MGA operations, having started his career in audit.
Prior to Occam, he held senior finance roles at CNA Insurance and Ironshore, a Liberty Mutual company.
Fisher’s promotion is part of strategic plans to grow the company by seizing market opportunities to expand into different lines of business.
He succeeds Lance Gibbins, who will continue to serve the company as Chair.
Fisher commented: “This is a really exciting time for Occam. We will be expanding the business to take advantage of new and emerging risks which require complex insurance protection, and more announcements will follow.
“I am thrilled at having the opportunity to lead Occam into its next phase of growth, and I am delighted that I will be able to continue to draw on Lance’s experience and expertise.”
Gibbins added: “I am pleased to hand over the day-to-day running of Occam to such a talented insurance leader as Mark. I am really happy to be able to support Mark in my position of Chair, and Occam is in good hands as it moves to the next stage of its growth and development.”
