Ocean International Reinsurance Company Limited (Ocean Re) has announced the establishment of a new representative office in Mexico, and has named Lockton’s Rebecca Peña as its head.
Most recently, Peña served as Senior Vice President in the brokers and reinsurance division of Lockton México, and brings over 18 years’ re/insurance industry experience to her new role.
Before Lockton, Peña was Deputy Director of production for Colemont de México and Product Manager at Benfield México, and she has spent five years leading business production for lines across Mexico and the Caribbean.
The new office expands Ocean Re’s Latin American operations, which already include a representative office in Panama, and plans for one in Columbia.
Carlos G. Chamorro, Executive Director of Ocean Re, explained that the new office “Represents another stage in our solid development in the insurance and reinsurance industry, and commits us to continue promoting and innovating, for the benefit of our customers and friends.”
Headquartered in Barbados, Ocean Re specialises in non-catastrophe Property and Casualty (P&C) underwriting business across the Latin American region, and has been operating since 2006.
