AkinovA, an electronic marketplace for the transfer and trading of insurance risk, has announced that Paul Jardine, former Executive Vice President and Chief Experience Officer at XL Catlin, has joined it Advisory Board.
The company said that Jardine would provide it with a wealth of experience from across the re/insurance industry in areas such as Operations, Claims and Distribution Strategy, as well as Communications and Marketing.
His main focus at AkinovA will be to assist the development of the company’s marketplace and leverage his knowledge of the global re/insurance market and regulatory environments to identify pain points and drive market liquidity.
Jardine joined Catlin (now part of AXA XL) in 2001 with responsibility for the development of new financial products, before becoming Chief Executive of the Catlin Syndicate in 2003 and then Chief Operating Officer of Catlin in 2004.
Prior to this, Jardine was a partner at Coopers & Lybrand (now part of PwC), where he focused on Lloyd’s of London and the London insurance market, and began his career as an actuary with Prudential Assurance Company Limited.
He also served for nine years as the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Lloyd’s, the body responsible for the management and supervision of the Lloyd’s market.
More recently, Jardine has joined the Boards of the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA), the London Market Group (LMG), and Asta Managing Agency.
In August, AkinovA also announced the addition of Susan Estes, Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the OpenDoor bond trading platform, to its Advisory Board.
