Global insurer Chubb has announced the promotion of Paul Johnstone to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of its Canadian operation, reporting to John Alfieri, President of Chubb Canada.
In his new role, Johnstone assumes executive operating responsibility for the company’s retail property and casualty insurance business, including its high-net-worth personal lines segment in Canada.
He will also be tasked with providing oversight for the accident and health offerings for Canada-based clients, which are served by independent insurance brokers and agents via Chubb’s four branches in the country.
Additionally, he will support Chubb Canada’s strategic priorities and IT, including architecture, with a focus on progressing digitization.
Taking over from Johnstone as Head of Personal Risk Services, Canada, is Melanie Wilcox, who currently serves as Senior Vice President and Assistant Region Manager for Chubb Canada Personal Risk Services.
In this role, Wilcox will also report to Alfieri, and will lead all strategic initiatives with oversight of underwriting, marketing, business development, operations, and risk consulting teams.
Both appointments are effective January 1st, 2022.
