Global insurer and reinsurer XL Catlin has announced the appointment of Phil Xue as Chief Executive Officer (General Manager) of XL Insurance (China) Company Ltd., pending regulatory approval.
The firm has announced that Xue will also act as Country Manager for XL Catlin, China.
Prior to joining XL Catlin, Xue spent over a decade with reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, and was most recently Head of South China Market and Head of its Shanghai Operation.
He worked at Guy Carpenter’s Hong Kong office for five years, before assisting with the establishment of the company’s Shanghai office in 2012. Before Guy Carpenter, Xue worked at Royal Sun Alliance plc, Shanghai Branch and China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co. Ltd.
